E-business platform for the European leader of property services

This strategic project is part of Foncia’s goal to gain online market leadership.

For this, a platform for prospects and clients was designed to give a high performing, responsive user experience across all channels (apps, extranet, website).

A seamless user experience across channels

The fundamental goal of the project was to create a coherent user experience across all digital channels.

Foncia users can be both prospects and clients for different services, therefore they must be able to access their complete information from their personal user account.

Securing a coherent flow of real time data

Buying or renting a property, checking one’s user account, and staying informed: the information generated by various information systems is published in real time and made available across all channels (web, extranet, mobile app) thanks to a custom middleware developed in Symfony 2.

Agility: a key factor for the success of the project

The project involved a complete 9-month redesign of an ecosystem with the input of 8 teams and contractors, whilst maximizing the developments’ business value.

Agile methodology, and in particular the Scrum method, was a key success factor for working in a multi-team environment with very tight deadlines.

Designing a robust and long-lasting platform

Because of its strategic position at the heart of Foncia’s business model, the platform must be usable in the long term.

Continuous integration allows for the automation of processes, including functional tests across browsers.

Technology with UX in mind

A consistently good user experience requires permanent monitoring and performance optimisation (availability, response time,…) of the application.

Newrelic’s performance management solution was chosen to diagnose and fix application performance problems in real time, in the context of a genuine DevOps strategy underpinning this project.
