The project required the company to work closely with CNBC’s excellent design team to deliver an outstanding site.

Tight synchronisation with broadcast schedules was also required.

This ensured that all elements of the broadcast campaign and web campaign coincided together.

The Good Entrepreneur

Objective

CNBC Europe and Allianz partnered to launch a competition to identify entrepreneurs across Europe with environmentally responsible business concepts.The competition opened to entries in June 2009 and ran until November 2009.

The company was asked by CNBC to help develop and implement a website that was built on the core use of social interaction for applicants. The website required forums, videos, ratings, profiles and integration into LinkedIn and Twitter.

Due to the tight synchronisation with broadcast schedules, this required incredibly aggressive timescales. A website needed to be delivered within 2 months to ensure all elements of the broadcast campaign and web campaign proceeded together.

Solution

The company created and implemented an eZ Publish CMS platform with video upload capabilities, that would enable three types of members to use the site: The Entrant, Supporter and Viewer.

Entrants had the ability to upload their videos and share them in a community environment, taking part into the competition. Members would have the ability to view, comment, tweet and rate the videos. Viewers would be able to view all the content and follow the action on Twitter.

A phased approach was taken as the site needed to follow a strict timeline that followed the entrants from sign up, through a selection process until the final stage where a winner was crowned.
